For the record, the above title is not my own, but the title of two reports given by an Air Force Officer from Florida in 1969.
While recently sorting through some of the Project Blue Book files (see my page INSIDE PROJECT BLUE BOOK), I came across two UFO reports investigated by the UFO Investigating Officer at Eglin Air Force Base Florida in July 1969. It's not that there is problem with his investigation process, to which we have to take his word on the evaluation. The part that stood out to me is the way he degraded the witnesses. The first case is listed in the Blue book archives (1 July 1969 Pensacola, Fl) and closed/ evaluated as a kite. At this time I have not found anything pertaining to it besides the two attached pages.
The second was reported by two airmen who witnessed an object while driving from Miami, Florida towards Eglin AFB (22 July 1969). This case was forwarded to the FTD at Wright-Patterson AFB after the investigation, but was not included in the Blue Book records. The investigator shows his disgust with having to waste time and resources on the report. He lectured the witnesses and discouraged them from ever filing another report. The officer went as far as to suggest that the USAF and DOD begin warning it's military personnel that time-consuming and money-wasting UFO reports be punishable.
Read the reports for yourself below. I have redacted the names of the witnesses and officer for privacy.
