MARCH 2, 2016
While a passenger in a car traveling south in Buck Creek State Park with a friend at 7:15 pm March 2, 2016 , A female witness reported seeing a yellow-orange light sitting stationary in the southern sky. The light was at an elevation of about 50 degrees. As she was watching the light, she thought it might be a tower of some sort. She was familiar with the area and didn't think that there was one near the location. She keep observing it to see if it would blink, to which it did not. After a few seconds the light started moving quickly, descending to the west. It was leaving a trail the same color behind it, eventually becoming lost behind the trees. She believed the object to be headed towards the ground. The driver saw the stationary portion of the object, but was watching the road during the descent. They looked around a bit for a sign of the object with no luck. There was no sound heard. She reported that she has seen shooting stars and was familiar with aircraft, this was neither.
